At Metshape GmbH, we are experts in sinter-based additive manufacturing, mastering the lithography-based metal manufacturing (LMM) process to produce high-accuracy small and micro metal parts.

From development through to series production, we deliver ready-to-use components with outstanding accuracy, quality, and efficiency.

Our LMM technology allows us to print complex geometries in a single step, without the need for tooling. This enables rapid prototyping, fast design iterations, and a significantly shorter time to market, giving you the flexibility to innovate quickly and cost-effectively.

Our journey so far

MetShape was founded in 2019, the same year as printer OEM Incus. Both share investor AM Ventures and work closely together: Incus develops the printer, while MetShape provides the full process chain from design and materials to post-processing.

In its early years under Co-Founder Dr. Andreas Baum, MetShape acted as a contract manufacturer and contributed to various funded projects led by Lucas Vogel. During this time, Lucas also began his PhD, developing the LMM process for Titanium and Nitinol, the first ever PhD thesis on LMM. After completing and defending his thesis earlier this year, Lucas became CEO of MetShape. His development driven mindset has re-shaped the company’s strategy.

MetShape, now recognized as a global competence center for LMM, has evolved from a contract manufacturer into a full development partner. With more than 15 application focused developments and roughly 10 technology focused developments currently ongoing, MetShape bridges the gap between early innovation and scalable production in the Lithography based Metal Manufacturing ecosystem.
